Sheyang Economic Development Zone lies at Sheyang County, the largest county in land area of Jiangsu Province. Centered as county seat, she is divided into two parts: East Zone and West Zone. At present, the programming area of East Zone is 11.8km2 and the programming area of West Zone is 12km2, totally 23.8km2. The Economic Development Zone rules over 5 resident committees, including the population of totally over 80,000 under jurisdiction.

　　Sheyang Economic Development Zone, a provincial level Economic Development Zone, was approved and set up by Jiangsu Province People's Government in Dec 1993. Now she has been formed into the development pattern of " one zone, two places; one zone, several parks". East Zone lies at the east side of the county seat, which mainly introduces textile, mechanical, electronics, and fine chemical industries with no-pollution or light-level pollution. West Zone lies at the west side of the county seat, was established since Aug 2002. Depending on the better basic conditions and the regional advantages, West Zone mainly introduces textile, significant items, and hi-tech items. Based upon historical status, industrial advantage and etc and according to the Principle of programming once, implementation step by step, module development and rolling development, Sheyang Economic Development Zone has formed into several industrial parks with differential features, such as Zhonglian Industrial Park, Zhenyang Light Textile Park, Haidu Chemical Park, New Zone Park and etc.
