It is reported that once a big school of fish reached the river mouth where they met a big turtle and fought with it.A long stretch of reeds were smoothed out in the fight.In the end ,the detrimentally hurt turtle ran out of the river to flee and soon died.According to the witnesses,the defeatedturtle was as big as the face of a wind mill.The diameter of its shell ranges up to six meters.

　　On April 8,1994,Passengers on a ferry at the Qianqiu Crossing saw several dark shallows shaped like the back of buffalo roving below the surface of the river.On April 18,several bridge construction workers were reported missing when they were lowering the bridge piles into the river near the crossing.Three divers were sent to investigate the site and they found that 25 of the 28 steel reinforcing bars were broken.Nearby there were 8 pits,which was speculated to be the habitat of a family of turtles.The bridge construction team made several similar pits with hydrants and put pig livers there to attract turtles to move.Several days later,some witness said that four giant turtles were playing in the river for almost half an hour several miles away from the bridge.The shape of the body of the turtles looks like automobile and their head ox head without horns.They swam with force and speed like giant boats.People,having about this,crowded at the site to look for the turtles.
